3cx is an excellent solution but licensing has always been questionable. You cannot renew the license early as the day you renew is the day it starts the 1 year clock. So if you renew 60 days early you lose 60 days from your previous license. Fine we have learned to deal with that and just renew within a day or 2 of expiration. Now 3cx has decided to notify all users in the entire org that the license is about to expire and that they have sent notifications but it hasn't been renewed. Why do this? What motivation could they have other then to convince admins to renew early and thus lose license time they have already paid for.

Perhaps, because if that wasn't done , some people would complain that they didn't see, or forgot about, the reminder.

Maybe but that seems like a poor reason. Take us for example we support a bunch of 3cx solutions for our clients. Now because of the licensing issues 3cx is just making us their partner look bad. We have had several communications from our clients already upset at us that they are getting this error message and on top of that it isn't even clear if they can continue to work in the system as is pops up if you are trying to start a web conference, chat, etc.

Agree, it sounds a bit aggressive...will have to await the "official" 3CX explanation.

I'm not sure how things are with annual licenses, but I didn't have any such problems when renewing updates for perpetual licenses early.

So if you renew 60 days early you lose 60 days
Are you sure about that or is it a guess?
have already done anticipated renewal for several annual license and I never got a loss of time, ending time stay the same +1 year.
i've done a renew today for annual license normally ending 8/5/2020 and after my renewal date is now 8/5/2021 so absolutely nothing is lost ;)

Hi @SayWhat39

When you update a licence early you do not lose any days, as you do not gain any days if you renew after the expiration. If you are facing any issues with licencing i would recommend contacting your sales representative as they will able to assist you

I take this back. I just ran a test and it appears they fixed this issue and the original purchase date is now saved. Sorry about the confusion.
