3CX RDP Audio?

Hey all.

We have a WFH employee who remotes into a computer on-perm.
We would like to know if there is a way for her to use 3CX for Windows from the RDP via her headset.

We have tried a number of things and neither seems to give her audio or a mic.

Any help will be appreciated.

Regarding your question, please be advised that this is not tested/supported from our side I'm afraid.

Accessing the webclient or desktop app via RDP session requires having an IP phone provisioned on the same extension and with a 3cx start-up version provisioned using an SBC or a router phone, where the webclient or desktop app is set in CSTA mode (paired with the IP phone) so that the audio of the call is through the IP phone and not piped through the RDP session.

As mentioned, this isn't a 3CX issue, but rather a passing audio via RDP issue.

Far better off using a routerphone in csta mode as advised above. You can use this with dedicated installs as well.
You can also just use the 3CX client on the remote endpoint - even the PWA will be a great experience.

This is what we do, with a headset. One can also use the web client, or a mobile app with earbuds.
