I have a 3cx server setup in amazon. I want to enable remote archiving and be able to save them via smb to a shared drive on my local network. I have an edgerouter lite that have setup port forwarding to go to the server I need it to go. I put smb://publicip/folder, the domain and user, however it is not connecting. Is there something I am doing wrong or is this something I cannot dod? What do I need to do to figure out the issue?

What port have you configure on the router , it should be tcp 445

Have you configure outbound port 445 on amazon firewall

For username, use domain\username , try adding / to the end of the smb path

Can you access the smb from another external address

What error message are you getting, if any

this may help https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/smb-backup-location.70518/
