3CX: Request for guidance regarding hardware for client

Hi,

it would be extremly helpful, if you could provide guidance regarding suitable hardware for use with your two softphones.

At the moment it is hard to find suitable hardware, that is not prohibitely expensive (as expensive as a hardphone solution) while also providing a reasonable quality and comfort.
I have found a lot of problems with cheaper USB hardware for VoIP use (sound problems, comfort. etc) effectively hindering softphone use, going the hardphone route and driving up costs (project money spend on hardware can not be spend for 3CX licences).

Please provide guidance for 3-4 devices that:

-You have tested in connection with your software and where you can assure acceptable quality
-That provide at least volume control and on/off hook functionality directly from the hardware, and 1-2 that also provide dialing from the device
-span a price range from "cheap" (for temp workers, etc.) to moderately priced

Not regarding hardware but also an issue hindering real world deployements:
-You VoIP clients can not handle device plugout/plugin without restart, anoying for use with notebooks/laptops

Hi, blabla :mrgreen:

During last couple of days we already fixed this issue (at least, we hope) adding the concept of default vs preferred devices, so perhaps tomorrow or on Wednesday a new release of the 3CX Voip Phone - provided mainly for this issue - will be available for download. Any further feedback regarding headsets integration and PNP issues regarding 3CX Voip Phone will be highly appreciated.

The device "PNP" seems to work ok. Still kinda unintuitive that the "butto pressed" sounds are coming from the ringing speaker, would expect them from the handset (imagine office space with multiple persons present).

I am still looking forward regarding guidance forcompatible hardware that at leasts provides acceptable quality.

I agree with you, the ringing line should be for ringing only, as it name suggests. We will check for button sounds issue.
