Getting this as error messages when I try to take a backup to an SFTP repository.

Your 3CX backup failed due to the following reason(s):
Entries cannot be created while previously created entries are still open.
Entries cannot be created while previously created entries are still open.

WriteOverlap: The WRITE range overlaps the uncommitted file content.

I can see that the backupname.zip is created in my SFTP repository, but it's empty.

When I try to take a local backup to the local disk, I get this message:

"The maximum number of backups has been reached."

Anyone able to assist me?

What is your SFTP? Are you using Azure?

Yes, we're using Azure blob storage. I show it's creating the .zip file but the file is empty.

Please be advised that Azure Blob storage is not supported for backups or archival functions from 3cx

https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/advanced/#h.vg9qffhspvf2

  • Note: The below SFTP services are not supported:
  1. Amazon S3 buckets
  2. AWS Transfer for SFTP managed service
  3. MS Azure Blob Storage

Hello Charles_3CX,

When will this be supported? It's 2024 and S3, Blob, etc. are all becoming more and more popular for storage needs.

We do not have any information on support becoming available for this I'm afraid.

What other SFTP backup solutions does 3CX recommend for sending backups offsite from 3CX hosted servers?

Hello Guys,
my 2 cents here, but i solved part of the troubles using backup to ftp using the CLI :

sudo -u phonesystem 3CXBackupCmd --file=3CXScheduledBackup.zip --options=ALL

I don't know why, but it works better (i don't know about Amazon or Azure, we use only FTP servers)
