3CX SMB Backup Can not Connect Invalid path

Hi guys,

I am trying to connect to SMB share running on Windows File server. I am able to browse the share from the 3CX server which is also running Windows server 2019. When I place the path in backup it return error:

here is an example of what I am doing in the SMB backup box.

SMB://serverName/Folder

domain = ADdomain.net

user = user

password = password

I get an error "Can not connect to SMB"

The user has full access to the location.

Are both systems joined to the domain?
THat is 3cx Windows box and target youare trying to connect to.
Can you browse and connect from usuall login on 3cx machine?
Guessing name resolution shoudl be OK if everything is properly setup in AD domain.
You show the "/" being used instead of windows use of "\" in a UNC name.
Not sure what 3CX does as don't reallyuse 3CX on windows anymore.

Yes both boxes joined to the domain, not problem access file share on the 3CX box. and I am not using UNC path I switched \ with / to meet SMB path requirement.

I wonder if 3CX supports the new higher security SMB versions, you could try enabling the older SMB protocols and see if it suddenly starts working. Wouldnt suprise me at all.

I am backing up to a S2016 box. These are my settings:

I'm on debian.

I think 3CX is using SMBv2

in an article i just read on TechNet regarding windows server 2019 as follows:
".....access in SMB2 will be disabled by default in Windows Server 2019 "

TLDR:

Firewall enabled will give you cannot connect to MB
GPO Enabled (DC specific) will give you invalid credentials.
Change SMB location to non-DC server.
