Solved 3cx - SN4141 to POTS issue

Hey. I am not having luck getting this configured correctly and am not having luck with support from anyone.
New 3cx install. New SN4141 device to connect old analog POTS to 3cx. Ive followed the instructions for the FXO gateway, exported the config file and imported it into the 4141. Call groups appear to be set properly. I try to dial out and get ringing from my VOIP phones - and can see the 0/1 light blink on the 4141, but it does not dial out. As a last ditch effort i hooked an analog phone to the 4141. When i pick up the phone it immediately rings the voip phones which leads me to believe the 4141 is actually setup and an fxs. (i think i have my terms correct). I was under the impression that the 3cx config file took care of all of the settings on the SN4141. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Anyone?

There seem to be several different versions of the SN4141, with various FXO and/or FXS ports. How many of each does your particular device have? (the ports are usually marked on the back)

Hi @devren bennett,

Firstly, let's confirm that you've bought the correct device. Does it say FXO ports above the RJ11 ports? If yes, you've got the correct device.

I'd suggest deleting the config you've made and starting over. Management Console >> SIP Trunks >> Add a Gateway and create a new config.

Reset the device, and follow the guide once more.

I'm not on site at the moment but the bottom tag of the device says PROD: SN4141/4JS4V/EUI. SmartNode FXS VOIP Gateway. Total Factory Installed SIP Sessions 4. I was told by the supplier this could be configured to FXO via the 3cx templates. Maybe they were wrong?

I'm glad we've managed to figure out what the problem is. I'd suggest speaking with your supplier to iron this out.

I am assuming that this means these are not reconfigurable and simply will not work as FXO devices....?

Quite right, they have different hardware. What you'll need is the FXO device.
