3CX Standard 8SC renewal

Hi there


I have a self-hosted 3CX Standard Free license with 8Channels. It’s coming for subscription renewal on 31/12/2022. But when I go 3CX portal its says "You are not required to renew the free 3CX Standard edition, it will be renewed automatically”. You may however upgrade your subscription’s edition or sim call capacity."

Will it automatically renew and keep 8 Channels, or will it fall back to free 4 channel?

Is this an older 8sc standard license? They used to be free and are grandfathered in from when the change to 4sc standard became the new free edition. If so nothing to do.

Thanks Jonathan. Yes this was very old free 8sc
I upgraded to version 18 and it stayed 8sc.

My question is will it stay 8sc channel after the expiry date or goes back to 4 channel free. Cannot find any information regarding this. Thanks heaps.

If it has been 8sc standard without paying for it then yes. All free licenses auto renew annually.

I have exactly the same problem, my free license (8 Channels) is several years old and now I want to renew it even if it was for 4 Channels and I can't. It always appears to inform to upgrade, but in reality that is not what I want.
There should be correct information about this, we wait to see what happens and if by chance it doesn't work in January we start the year in the worst way...

Kindly note that the 8SC license key is not a free key anymore, therefore if the 8SC license key is not renewed prior to its expiration day it will be downgraded to the current free edition which is 4SC.

Could you please send us an email to [email protected] with the license key in question so we can have a look for you in this particular case?

Hello All

Just to let you know all free keys that have been grandfathered to anything higher than 4SC (until 31 December 2022) would be converted to 4SC standard / free.

Now regarding the standard keys, it should be noted that we actually stopped selling them (new and upgrades) since August 2022.
Anyone who has a paid commercial key (this is mostly for 16SC+) they would be able to continue renewing their standard key.
Now for all free keys, its not possible to renew the standard key and you would need to upgrade to a Pro key!

@VoIPPBX_NZ - We would suggest you (and anyone in this situation) to upgrade to Pro to avoid any issues/downtimes etc.
