Can I please have some clarification on this. We, like many others, have clients using the Teams integration for the sole purpose of using the Teams client as the users handset. I have seen that Nick has said that is not where the 3CX software is going, but none the less, this is what we have.

From what I understand the "Teams and 3CX forking" is what allows the Teams client to ring when someone calls the users 3CX extension. It obviously works for the moment. Am I to understand that one random day Microsoft may make a change, that will break the forking, and 3CX are no longer going to fix it? At which point there will be a mad scramble to install the 3CX client on hundreds of machines followed quickly by a migration to a native Teams telephony system.

I am just wanting to know when the wheels are going to come off, so I can prepare for it.

This is precisely what this means, calls will not be routed to teams' apps, and you should be using the 3cx apps instead. This is, again, your choice to either use the 3cx communications system with all its capabilities and low cost or just the native team's telephony system without any of the current integration options with 3cx.

But can we still use 3CX to allow the native Teams app users to make and receive calls via the 3CX SIP Trunk? What I understand about the trunk level, no forking supported means it would not ring the 3CX ext. and Teams APP for the same user at the same time. But for a native Teams app user, he can still make and receive calls via 3CX SIP Trunk. Is it correct?

We do not have this information on what will be and how it will work when the current integration options are deprecated.

We can see "Teams integration is changing to trunk level only. Teams and 3CX forking will no longer be supported" in the 3CX management console. Before we upgrade the 3CX, there are no such warning messages. So what does it mean exactly?
