Hi Guys

I'm about to pull the trigger on a 150 user 3CX installation. I'm yet to configure desk phones. The client wants the system to be completely cloud with the ability to pick up a phone from the office and plug it in at home. I have already warned about BT, Sky, TalkTalk routers causing chaos, yet still this is a requirement.

The 3CX will be cloud based.

The only solution I can think of is to use remote STUN and change the local SIP port and RTP range for each user. I would love to use an SBC in this situation but then phones are pointing to SBC and wont work at home.

It would be great to be able to provision phones to SBC and having a fail-over to remote STUN all set in 3CX provisioning.

Any ideas anyone? Is there such thing as a cloud SBC that works well with 3CX?

Audiocode maybe too...

Talk to your customer and educate. This is a great opportunity to use the web client with the soft phone abilities. A simple USB headset like the plantronics C3210 works great. This eliminates security holes, the need for a power brick or POE injector, and also someone "forgetting" to bring their phone back to work. Not to mention the support that would be needed when a user takes the phone home and it does not work with their setup due to services such as SIP ALG. Side note, depending on their network config, the NAT may not work with extension to extension transfers. I have a customer that is a large corporation (30k+ users globally) and the one small 10 user office has policies that are form corporate that prevent transfers. Now your customer may be willing to work with you on that issue, this one is not. So for what it is worth, just a heads up.
