Hello 3CX community,

in the App encryption seeps activated on default. A lock is shown for every call.

I am confused, that under phone provisioning options no TLS / secure RTP mode is selected even if the calls seems secured. The 3CX tunnel is deactivated for the app and the SIP transport protocol is set to UDP.

What encryption is used by the app when not the SIP secure settings? Does it make any change, when I activate TLS/SRTP?

Thanks for a feedback.

Thanks for the link but as stated no tunnel is active, so this cannot be the same encryption as stated in the linked post.

Hi @nima1

The apps use the tunnel regardless, it is enforced. So this means they are always encrypted and it disregards that setting.

The only thing that setting affects is the Windows client, and any remote phones you may happen to use where you enabled SRTP and TLS on them manually, and want the extension to be able to negotiate a TLS connection with optional SRTP

PS: for the Windows Client, I mean in case you disable it's tunnel and want it to connect via TLS/SRTP
