Hi Guys

a quick question, i know with the older versions of 3cx when changing the external/public IP address of the system you would need to update certain parameters withing the system as well.

is this the case with v15.5 as well?

Reason i ask is we have a client who is moving from one ISP to another.

Hello @kurt5132081

Please note that with the latest 3CX version you can navigate to Settings / Network and set the "External IP Configuration" setting to Dynamic Public IP and restart all services.
The PBX will then detect the IP change and update the FQDN (if a 3CX FQDN is used). Once the change is detected you can set the option back to Static Public IP and fill in the correct IP. No other changes required.

Glad i could help :)

I just tried this but the FQDN has still not updated in DNS. (I have a 3CX FQDN).
How long will that take to propagate?

Thanks

Never mind... I see the new IP is on a couple of public DNSs. Patience is a virtue :D

Please note that the TTL of non Enterprise keys is 6 hours. Depending on when the change was made and the DNS you are using it might take several hours for the DNS to propagate. Let us know if the DNS propagated correctly.

Propagated OK. Thanks.

Glad to see the issue has been resolved
