Following the sneak peek we gave you of the upcoming QR code smartphone client provisioning and Hot Desking which will both be included in this update, here\'s another feature to keep the momentum going: The Terminal Window feature. This feature...

Norwegian prompts included this time?

Is the shell just those commands or is it a full shell where any shell command can run?

only what you see, it is for admins facing an issue and need host level input. it would be not a good idea to give the PBX admin also full host access as they might not be the same person... or in other cases, in our PBXexpress trail u can see but not alter... fair deal right?

Very soon? Tomorrow? Next Week? Next Month? Next Year?

for sure 2017, tomorrow for sure not :-) limits the answers a bit...

Interestign features.
I was thinking the QR thing might be the biggest, but although very nice, The terminal session can be a lifesaver, Especially on remote systems.

And I know several clients are impatiently waiting for the hotdesking function, So that would be another big thing.

we really need multiply call for extensions in ring groups, would be nice if this feature can be included after 3 years of upvoting..

will it be possible to set the BLFs for the phones when they are in hotdesking (not logged in as an extension mode) with a quick dial login, e.g. for small teams so they don't need to dial the *70*extension*, then they would only need to remember their pin number.

if this isn't a feature, is there a chance of this happening in the future?

there will be no plans for this (or that an idle HD device have a BLF setup where this can be done) as it sill needs to be protected to log in as a user and which.

Go to Settings >> Parameters and change this ALLOWUSEBUSYOPTFORGROUP to a value of 1 then it ring group users will get multiple calls.

I will suggest reading a discussion about this here first before anybody doing this. The summary is, this is not yet an implemented feature so officially it is not yet supported.

so it IS a big thing... as it is coming, check the video...
when will hot desking be available on the Fanvil range of phones? just went to try the new feature on the beta release and they are not in the drop down list :-(

Still a few questions though:

  1. Broadcasting is only needed for the initial set up of hot-desking? Can i place the device behind a NAT or SBC after the initial support?
  2. Does voicemail need to be turned on, as the voice pin code is requested? Or is filling out a pin code in the disabled voicemail enough?
  3. given the way hot desking is set up, can i have - my own desk phone, My iphone/admidroid smartphone app, the web client active on a certain extension, yet be able to use a hotdesking phone in an other part of the office? E.g. if i have hotdesking active for an extension, can i still use my 3CX smartphone app, the soft-phone on my laptop, and the web-client?
