If extension password is weak (exclamation mark) and try to edit the extension, you get Internal server error 500. All browsers, cache cleared, Windows Server 2016 installation (updated), bug applies also to V15.5 SP1, as well to SP2 beta (not fixed).

Also, if manual is required and auto update in managements console will that do damage to existing pbx's?

Auto update will just update 3CX Package. No changes will be made to the OS.
If you manually updated debian 8 to 9, then uninstall 3CX, and install it again. We will release a snippet on how to install it manually.

This is a known issue - we are aware of this. Will be fixed in the next update.

sounds great al this new (and new old) features
Has anyone with SP2 already managed to get Call Deflection to work with a beronet gateway?
I already checked for the call deflection setting in the PSTN-port group on the beronet gateway, but it still shows our office Number on redirection... When testing with our old isdn-system direct attached to the pstn lines, call deflection works.

Just updated. Nothing looks like it broke so that's good. Tested the 3CX provided email server and that works. Definitely like that feature, solves a lot of problems and looks more professional than '[email protected]'.

The Fanvil X6 firmware included appears to be for the X6 1.2 as it wouldn't work on my 1.1 phone. Hopefully there will be a way to have both hardware versions on the same system and firmware update both.

I see hotdesking doesn't support fanvil phones (X5 series). Will this be added as i see it is a compatible phone and on their website they mention the phones both the X5g and the X5s support hotdesking.

Hotdesking is not supported on Fanvil phones because they can't re-provision without the reboot.
Fanvil guys are working on this.
As soon as the "re-provision without the reboot" functionality will be implemented on Fanvil phones we will add them in Hotdesking too.

Fanvil informed us that the X6 models with the old HW version 1.1 need to be replaced. You can contact them for the replacement.
We are not planning to support the HW version that is old and need to be replaced.

I mean you can do this with active directory. They login to the pc and use their phone.
But natively in the client it will never be done - this is old fashioned. Use the webclient to login.

Contact Beronet - but for sure it has to work.
Ensure that everything is ok with the telco and open a beronet ticket support. In 3CX there is nothing to configure so you cannot really go wrong.

Hope to get fixed in the final release of Update 2.

Fix is already in place - However whats the rush exactly? Change the password and move on. When the fix will come it will come. Its not like a show stopper.

Thanks Aram, If our client is happy with a quick reboot in the short term, is there a way to make them work?

Yes, the SMTP offer was genius. I like that the instance company name shows up as the "from" name. But, we did notice that invites for conferencing did not include the friendly name "3CX Phone System CompanyName <[email protected]>", it only shows "[email protected]". If the tenant or instance name can be included in all emails generated it would be helpful.

I might also suggest that there be a new email variable to customize the FromName for email. (The from address would still be 3cx.cloud)

In production we will probably continue to use the client's SMTP server on premise installs and our SMTP setup for cloud installs. (We send from [email protected] using alternate port SMTP to get out of Google Cloud so that it maintains some branding for us on hosted and it helps people know who to call for support.)

While not sure how they programmed it but since i am guessing is that my hypothesis is that there is only one entry for a configuration file (since they generate on the fly) in the database and with the reboots, the system wouldn't know which configuration file to send down to the phone. Since the system doesn't reboot the phone, my guess (don't have a yealink to play with) is that if you factory reset the phone, it should return to the neutral state and not a logged in state but i could be wrong.

So far I like the new Hotdesking, however the EN, Language files seem to be missing, when i logged in to the phone the response was file not found. to over come this I switched to UK Language. I know this is a beta, but I hope to get all the files in the finial release.

You need to update your English Prompt Set. Go to Settings->System Prompts page and download the new version of English Prompts that contains the new Hotdesking files.

All Fanvil phones have the same missed functionality.
The "re-provision without the reboot" functionality need to be implemented on all models. After that we will add them in the list of Hotdesking supported phones.
