Skill based needs an Enterprise Licence
Really? The gap is getting wider and wider between Pro and Enterprise. That is very disappointing. Would still like to see what it does/how it works, it is a shame especially in Alpha/Beta releases, there is not the option to have

Trial feature would be great.

5. Phone Logo - I believe making clients pay for an enterprise license just to have their logo on the back of the phone is really unfair. Other PBX's allow this to be changed. I understand we are advertising 3cx. We tell our customers about 3CX Directly we don't try to white label it. They know who you are when they are paying for you. Worse case have a spot for their logo and the 3cx logo.. "powered by 3cx"

I agree fully, however, if you are comfortable at a command prompt (in Linux) or understand the provisioning path, you can very easily make this change without going enterprise. It's been a point of contention for some time. This is a feature that would be greatly appreciated at the Professional level instead of having to pony up for enterprise just to get a logo on your phone.

3CX Team: Any information on the "Enhanced queue options for skill-based routing of calls to agent groups.". Would be great to know a little more about this and how it it work.

Marari,
Thanks for the update that you can change it through the ssh I did not read that in the forums. My only fear is that I change it and an update to 3cx messes it up. I guess before we update an clients server we would have to make changes first. I will look into that. Also I already know 3CX says no no no to this.. and no support. Really crazy that we have to do this....

We have been replacing the logo file and it does tend to revert back to the default 3CX logo when there are major updates from 3CX. We are up-front with the client about the "work-around" and tell them to contact us if the logo ever reverts and they want it changed back. We keep a copy on their instance so it's a simple rename of the 3CX logo(s) and copy the client logo(s).

With the new 3CX pricing we try to use Enterprise. It's just not that much more, and I think they will continue to add more value to it as new features are released. But, for our larger Professional edition Perpetual clients we have done this.

What about Call Flow Editor in V16?
We can't integrate a CFD Script in Queues.
The little expansion in IVR isn't a useable alternative.

CFD is still needed!

I have two questions.. for now.

First off, we are a Professional Perpetual license holder and we've set up a seperate test environment for V16. We requested a free yearly license to test V16, especially the new scripting in IVRs. Is there any way to upgrade this license to Pro so we can incorporate call queues, something we currently use?

Secondly, when will you release the example scripts or documentation for IVR scripting in V16? I can imagine they're not done yet and won't be until V16 hits RC or stable release channels, but it'd be nice to already be able to play around and build things with preliminary docs.

I have a question. They say the windows client will be stripped down in the next version. I have a client that uses ACT internally as their CRM system. They are a small office and are not on the newest version. They have ACT integration through the windows client Via a plugin. Will, that still work? My other question is I also have a customer that uses her outlook phone book with the integration to dial her customers. She does not want to use the app directly for this and she is not on office 365. Is that plugin going to continue to work?

@mcapanong - The old style client plugin integrations are deprecated and will no longer be maintained. So they will need to move to the online Act CRM (and develop act script) or Office 365 at some point. That said TAPI for outbound dialing will continue to work and both outlook and act support tapi.

@bramvandeperre - we dont have separate demo licenses i am afraid but some trial functionality will come into the final version for sure. In regards to CFD / IVR scripting - this will probably come in update 1 - CFD scripts will require minimal updates

Just found out another cool feature coming in v16. Installed the alpha specifically to verify it. In the changelog it has
  • Set H.264 as a default video codec for Fanvil Android phones. Video calls between them and 3CX Webclient are possible now.
The H.264 codec is also the one used on the Fanvil X6 (non android) but has options for video calling. It doesn't have a camera but the screen supports video.

Sure enough, if the Video Codec on the X6 is enabled, you can do video calls to and from the webclient and video shows up on the X6. Photo attached, pointed the webcam to an open Word document.

Basically turning a regular desk phone into a video phone via a software update.

I too would like to know more, much more, as detailed as possible about Call Flow Editor in V16 or the replacement of it if that is still on 3CX's roadmap. Call Flow editor is a valuable app and I'd like to see it evolve, not be replaced entirely.

We currently don't have CFD scripts, but are looking into ways integrating flows for asking order/customer information before passing on to the agent. Looking into CFD now or learning how to use it seems silly now that CFD is being deprecated over IVR scripting. Hence my question :)

Hi Bram, no its OK to look into the CFD, no problem... There will not be a lot of changes

Testing out the Alpha 2 and it looks like the Webmeeting is set to ask for the chrome plugin Click2Call when selecting Request Remote Control. I heard 3cx was working towards removing that requirement in a future update since Chrome would have the remote control built in.

Do you think not needing Chrome's Click2Call plugin to use Webmeeting remote control will make it in version 16 final?

On another note, just ran through the call in option for webmeeting. Looks like we now have a drop in replacement for gotomeeting and webex. Another monthly bill knocked off with a software update!
I think the our users are really going to appreciate having this option for everyone and get a lot of use out of it.

Hi there! 3CX developers ;-)

Wil there be CTI support for Gigaset N720 dect system with the 3CX Webclient? (i like the webclient !)
just intercom function would be nice...now we have to use the softphone. :-(

But i saw in the v16 v2 version that de softphone wil be less with options like no more switchboard!
so customers wil not be able to see call queues any more....

i think that in the future 3CX will make the softphone EOL?

Hi JMtelecom. There are no plans for Gigaset N720 as it would mean Gigaset would have to support CSTA and the phone does not.... There is a switchboard in v16 - both in the client as well as web based.

EDIT: IT seems Gigaset are working on something - lets wait and see if they make their range compatible.

Please note we are keeping native softphones for all platforms.... No need to worry :) With good functionality to operate 3CX. Its only the switchboard that we are talking about that would be web based in future. Whereby the current will remain but more advanced features will come only in the web based version.

Hi Nick

thanks for your answer i just got a update in de softphone 16.0.1.77 and you are right the switchboard is back! :-)

I hope that Gigaset will update there system!! so we can use the webclient in the future;-)

have a great weekend!

So looking forward to the Skill Based Routing, but please can "Longest waiting" be added to the Skill Based Polling Strategy. Also for customers with multiple Queues with Agents logged into more than one queue, could "Longest waiting All Queues" be created?

upload_2019-2-2_20-57-2.png

Also will Skill Based Routing only be available in 3CX Enterprise Edition, please make it available on Pro.

Finally, please, please on Outbound calls, can the Strip Digits be increased to at least 11 may be 15, this would aid changing expensive premium numbers such as 0845 to local numbers, EG 08451234567, Strip 11 and prefix with 01999111111. Why 11?

Is there anyway if some on 3CX calls a DDI belonging to an Extension, it could keep the call within 3CX? As a big organisation we get several people dialling peoples DDI's from 3CX, not realising they are both on 3CX, which then costs money. This could be achieved if the route could be "3CX", you could strip the digits (most people have the Ext as the last four+ digits of their DDI). Eg: 0300001234, Strip 6 Digits leaving you with 1234.

I agree please make it so more digits can be stripped as this will allow us to route some calls better and save our customers some money.
