Hello,

Is there a special way to update the Yealink T19P_E2 and T21P_E2?

We have updated our 3CX from 15.5 to 16.0. On version 15.5 the firmware of the T21P_E2 was (52.83.0.55)
On Version 15.5 we had custom templates, but we diddnt need them anymore so before the upgrade i changed all templates to the correct template (but did not yet reprovision the phones).
Ive read on the support page of 3CX about the T21P_E2-52.84.0.35.rom need to be installed manually before you can update to T21P_E2-52.84.0.95.rom.

When i update to the 0.35 firmware usually it updates in 1 try. But when i want to update to 0.95 (via 3cx console) it looks like the phone goes in a update loop. I have to turn off the PoE before it stops. Then when i turn it on again sometimes the phone updates to 0.95 other times it goes back in the loop.
When i remove the mac adres from the extension the phone downgrade to 52.82.0.100.
Also when i am quick enough i can manually update to 0.95 and then is everything fine.

Sidenote:
We also have some T46 phones, there were no problems with these phone. all updated smoothly to T46-28.83.0.130.rom
So the provisioning link is available and working.

System Info:
3CX Version: 16.0.6.655 Pro Perpetual
Server OS: Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard
Is the 3CX Server Hosted: Local server (Hardware)
IP Phone Yealink T21P_E2 (52.83.0.55)
Provisioning Method: Local (Provisioning link)
Trunk Provider: Ziggo/Vodafone (Onefix) from template
Has the Firewall Checker passed: YES
Are custom Phone Templates being used: NO

It sounds like you have the current and older firmware in your provisioning folders. make sure to check the firmware and firmware_new folders under yealink and remove older firmware, most especially the troublesome 52.82.0.100 that it keeps downgrading to. Generally this doesn't happen but it can cause trouble having older firmware left behind.

3CX v16 is no longer supported on Windows 2012/R2 you should look to move this elsewhere.

If the phones don't operate properly, give them a factory reset and then re-provision them and they should update properly. That and removing older firmware should clean everything up.

The multiple firmwares theory sounds valid. Ill give that a try. Thinking about it the t46 also has multiple firmwares in the folder, no problems there. But im still gonna try this. Thanks.

already did a factory reset. Problem was still there.

about the os version i know, working on that.
