Solved 3CX v18 Upgrade button removed again?

Hi,

Has 3CX removed the button to Upgrade to V18 again?
It has disappeared and it cannot be locate anywhere within the portal.
Please advise.

Came here to verify this. I set tonight aside to do the V18 update, but it doesn't appear on the Console (It was there a few days ago)

Hello!

Yes, there were some dependency issues caused over the weekend when Debian removed some packages and this *could* result in a failed upgrade of the OS.

We didn't want to risk it, so we disabled the OS Upgrade, but we will checking everything today and hopefully by tomorrow at the latest it will available again.

All I can say is that I wish the people taking care of the Debian repos, although we all fully respect the work they do, didn't do these kind of things on a Saturday...

We didn't want to risk it, so we disabled the OS Upgrade, but we will checking everything today and hopefully by tomorrow at the latest it will available again.

I wasn't referring to entire packages, just certain versions of packages to which we have dependencies, so the dependent packages also need to be upgraded, but before we do that, we need to ensure that the newer version of said packages don't break any functionality.

Right, the apt protocol allows versioning so why not just stay on the same (now older) version of said package until you have tested it and are ready?

Exactly! But when the people maintaining the repositories removed the 'pinned' versions we have from apt, we can't do that!
So it was removed because during the OS upgrade, 3CX is technically uninstalled but the data is kept, OS packages are updated, then 3CX V18 is installed and the old data re-attached to the installation.
But if the specific version we want isn't available and the OS for whatever reason doesn't have it cached, 3CX will not install, and because the OS has already been updated, there is no way to roll back to V16, so the system will end up with no 3CX and just the data there orphaned.

So, to keep it less technical for other reading I'll re-iterate, we have disabled it temporarily so that we don't take the risk of anything like this happening.

Why didn't you add the package you need at the version you need to a custom source list or even the 3CX apt source, and download it via that? This would allow the package you need to stay at the version you want indefinitely

I wanted to switch from V16 to V18 this weekend, the button has disappeared. I will wait for this correction to do it. Please inform us on this Forum.

The upgrade button has been restored for V16 U8 and U8A installations, so it should appear in the next few hours to everyone.

We checked the dependencies again with QA, all came back clear, so we allowed the update of the new package and unlocked the Upgrade package again.
