Your question is answer by the blog post, this new version is to maintain 3CX activation server for licence renew if you are still in V18 until september 2025.

I did not download this before my license was renewed 1/29. Now I am caught in a catch 22 where I cannot activate because I don;t have the patch and I can't download the patch because my license is expired. How do I get the update?

Probably, but I wanted to see if there was a way I could get the update first so I didn't have to go through the hassle. Kind of sucks there was only one week notice before it bonked my system.

apt update
apt upgrade -y

It should bring the v18 to the latest update.

Hi, sorry it's a Windows 3CX Install is there an equivalent command that can be run to apply the update?

Hmm the latest 3CX v.18 installer (https://downloads-global.3cx.com/downloads/3CXPhoneSystem18.exe) looks like it's still U31.

This should allow you to update the PBX until the end of the month. After this the newly released patch of Version 18 will be necessary to keep using Version 18.

Thanks for your help everyone, so it looks like the only way to get this updated is to uninstall / reinstall the latest Windows installer and restore from there ? I'm assuming there's no equivalent commands like on a Linux distro to sideload or perform the updates ?

I have installed version 18.0.9.31 and question is where can I get this version. On the customer portal under download there is version 18.0.9.31 and not build 35 https://downloads-global.3cx.com/downloads/3CXPhoneSystem18.exe
In my case auto update is not working and I need to first dome backup and than install with restore from backup.
Can someone share link for download.

Is manual update working? (Why?)

Sometimes minor patches don’t have a full installer released, I think.

For a bigger broadcast station, we have a project (and an offer out) where we will need to create an extra V18 as a Backup server before we can update the existing 3CX server to v20 during the summer; they cannot have downtime on the existing server, which is a bigger server. The existing running server is on v18 u9 b35. We do have a v18 license ready to use when the project is finally approved, however, this might be after 24 February.

3 Questions.
Will we be able to install the v18 u9 b31 key after 24 February?
Will we be able to update this v18 u9 b31 to b35 after 24 February?
Will we be able to use the Backup from the existing v18 u9 b35 to complete our installation of the new extra server?

The purpose of this update is to provide activation after the 24th. Without the patch in place you wont be able to activate V18U9A (build 31)
