Before SP5 I could choose my snom M65 Phone as target phone within the Web client (the blue handset in the upper right corner). I then could dial (or redial) from web client and pick up the call on my M65.

Now, after latest SP, this phone (M65 connected via M700) isn't available anymore. How can I bring it back? I only see my two snom 710 phones and "3CX-Mobileclient".

Regards,

Christian

Hello @cwoller

Please note that only supported models for uaCSTA work with the webclient. Since DECT phones are not supported for CTI they cannot be used with the web client.

Hi YiannisH_3CX.

Than maybe we misunderstood us.

Before SP5 I saw an entry "M700" (beside other snom phones) and when selecting and dialing on this, I got a call from 3CX ("MakeCall"). When answering (on my DECT phone!), 3CX dialed the number I entered in the web client. Now, with SP5, the entry "M700" is missing and when selecting one of the other connected phones, I dial through them.

But I figured out, how to use this again: Instead of M700, you guys call this now "Mobile Client" and when dialing on this, I got my "MakeCall" back :-)

Please note that DECT devices do not support uaCSTA that the webclient uses so these phones were removed from SP5 to avoid compatibility issues. If the phones did support uaCSTA you would not see "Make Call" on the handsets screen.
The reason it is working when you choose the mobile client is because a device was registered on the extension using Push. When selecting that option the PBX will send and Invite for the Push device and the DECT phone will also ring using "Make Call".

Thank you for your technical explanation :-)

As long as it is working with "MakeCall", there is no compatibility issue that I can see of. So this sounds to me, 3CX wanted to make a step forward with SP5, but because of reduced functionality (or better: call it "confusion" on my side), it feels to me like a step backward.

I was happy before SP5 with the M700 option, MakeCall worked for me. Even if DECT does not support uaCSTA directly, there was a way, I could make calls through the web client.

This said, I am happy, that it worked again :-)

Since working on a Mac (and not like the native 3CX client due to lag of functionality compared to Windows client), web client -for me- is the only option that allows me to use the 3CX functionality.

I am happy to hear that you enjoy the web client and that you found a way around the issue.
