Hi,

there is an issue with the plantronics hub communication with 3cx webclient.
There was already someone telling the same and the answer was, that TLS update in Google Chrome was the problem, but that is not correct. The link to the thread: https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/issue-with-plantronics-hub.75104/#post-341834

Plantronics Support told me, they are not partner of 3cx and 3cx just uses the implentation on their system. They already support tls version 1.2 for communication with the browser, but he thinks that the implementation on 3cx for headset integration is too old for the new versions of plantronics hub. With plantronics hub version 3.17 we have not problems.

Please check this.

Hi Phil,

Please note that Plantronics is not officially supported, but we do enable them to work in the webclient as an additional headset. My answer on the first thread was speculative I'm afraid, not factual.

I tested one now (C720) using Chrome and did not come across any issues. The voice worked, and the answer button also worked. See the versions below, you should also be able to use your headset techncially if on those versions.

Chrome 86.0.4240.75
Plantronics Hub 3.1.19.0
3CX 16.0.6.655

Well.. why does it not work at our company with nearly similar versions.
Please look at this thread, I'm not the only one: https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/3cx-cannot-connect-to-poly-blackwire-headset.76077/

Hi Phil,

Hopefully this is what we will find out together :)

Can you please confirm with the exact above versions if possible and let me know? Just so we have something to compare between us while testing.

Hi John, I need to test it with a plantronics user, afterwards I will tell you the versions.
3CX is at 16.0.6.641
Chrome is always at the last available version
Plantronics Hub last time worked just with 3.17, as my description says. 3.18 and 3.19 did not work at the last time we testet, with exact this 3CX version and the latest available Chrome/Edge/Firefox versions.
I will test it again and tell you afterwards.

We will remove all our plantronics headsets from out company now, so this problem is solved for me now.

Hi All,
I did a quick test this morning of 3CX support with Plantronics Hub 3.19.
The results I got are:
  • Windows Client: Call answer/call end worked with headset button with Savi 8200 UC and Calisto 3200. Mute is not synced.
  • Windows Webclient on Edge, with Extension installed/enabled: Call answer/call end worked with headset button with Savi 8200 UC but not with Calisto 3200. Mute is not synced.
I made sure same headset/microphone was selected in Audio settings as was set to primary in Hub. Also in Webclient need to enable Plantronics headset integration in the Audio settings.
Webclient seemed to work for Savi 8200 UC for me, but not for Calisto 3200 (but Windows Client worked for both):

Note: there was a known issue with the certificate on Hub 3.18 that would block the REST API connections. However, this certificate issue was resolved in Hub 3.19. To verify, visit this URL in your web browser: https://127.0.0.1:32018/Spokes/DeviceServices/Info and you should see a padlock, indicating Connection is secure. Note: If using Firefox you will need to add an exception.
Note: The last 3 versions of Hub are archived here: https://www.poly.com/gb/en/support/downloads-apps/hub-desktop/archive

Thanks,
Lewis Collins.
