3cx will not install, please help

I keep getting the error shown in the screenshot that can be found at https://gyazo.com/76efd33d8db3c38ca0a5df150c761984 every time I try to install 3cx, it did install before but now it won't

Did you perhaps attempt to install 3CX and interrupted the installation while it was in progress?

1. Check to see if 3CX seems to be installed on this machine and if yes, try to uninstall it from the Control Panel.
2. Regardless of whether you found an installation and uninstalled it or not, reboot the machine completely.
3. Download and run the latest 3CX v16 installer.

First thing to do is to reboot the computer.

if this still fails then open up regedit and delete the following key:

HKLM:\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\PendingFileRenameOperations

I deleted that key and tried to reboot the computer and it still says the same error

Try running CCleaner and go again.

I'd recommend checking the processes for any 3CX processes. Kill them all and try again, if you get the same issue, try creating a new local administrator for that machine, login with that account and then try installing again. Do make sure you are using the latest installer: https://downloads-global.3cx.com/downloads/3CXPhoneSystem16.exe

Try running CCleaner and go again.

yes I did reboot and I ran CCleaner and Advanced System Care and it still says the same thing

I think your best option here would be to completely scrap this OS and start over. If it's a VM just completely deleted and create a new one, if it's a physical machine just re-install the OS. This will ensure you have installed 3CX on a clean System and that you will not face any corrupted installation issues in the future.

If this is out of the question, the only thing I can suggest is using an advanced uninstallation tool such as RevoUninstaller to hopefully manage to clean anything 3CX related from the machine and try again. I think it actually scans for folder/file remnants of installations and registry entries.

nearly a 2 year old article - have you got something more up to date as to why not?
