We have been working with 3CX since about version 6 (over 10 years). We were an IT services company for about 30 years when we found 3CX. We were looking for a PBX that was software based, inexpensive, full-featured, and had a compelling programming API. 3CX checked all the boxes.
At that time VoIP and related services was about 2% of our annual revenue. In the first year after working with 3CX, VoIP revenue went from 2% to approximately 84% of our annual revenue. By the end of the 2nd year, it was in the mid 90s.
Historically, about 50% of our company's revenue came from software development. Since almost all of our revenue was now coming from 3CX sales, service, and 3CX software development, we sold our IT services business so we could focus 100% on 3CX. Today we have 60+ full-time developers.
We have customers spanning from 4 to 1024 simultaneous calls in over 90 countries around the world. My point is that 3CX works well for small implementations as well as very large implementations. The 3CX programming APIs has made it possible for us to build just about any customization requested, which is important for larger implementations with high expectations.
As you have noted, 3CX is pathetically simple to price, implement, and administer. I've worked with many other legacy phone systems that were so complicated to administer that I had to call support to do almost anything (seriously, try LG-Ericson if you want a nightmare). That is not the case with 3CX.
I've built my business around 3CX -- that's all we do. Can there be a better endorsement? Is 3CX always the perfect fit for every customer? Well, perhaps no, but what product is? What I can tell you is that in our experience, 3CX has been a reliable, customizable, and an ever-expanding product that you can build your business around.
When we started selling 3CX nobody had heard of the company. Today, EVERYONE in the industry knows who 3CX is. You simply can't appreciate how 3CX has impacted the industry, and they will continue to do so. I remember when people used to say "Nobody gets fired for buying IBM" (showing my age). I think in the PBX world, 3CX has become the 800 pound gorilla in the room. They certainly cannot be ignored.
