3CXPhone for Windows - SoftPhone

I found the new softphone here -> https://www.3cx.com/voip/softphone/

It downloads and installs, but I can't get it to assign a user or activate.

After install, I go to the Phones section, then PNP Phones and it shows, so I click Assign and pick an user and nothing happens with the App (Softphone). In the list, it is showing the IP as 127.0.0.1

I am not sure if that is correct, since I am a Hosted account.

Anyone get this working?

This very old softphone was released long ago and can not be auto-provisioned. It is no longer supported, it's very good for testing purposes but not used in production.

You need to use one of the available apps under the webclients apps section.

Thanks. Is there an incoming chat window that pops up (not opening a URL in a browser) whenever someone chats?

As mentioned, this is a very old softphone developed many years ago for a version of 3CX that did not have a chat feature.

I am not asking about this app. But in the past, we used this app, 3CXPhoneforWindows16.msi, and it had the chat feature. Is there anyway app now or plans in the future for this feature? No one here knows when someone chats to us through our website or other. Before, we have a popup and a sound. See attached screenshot.

The app you are referring to in your screenshot is the 3CX App from Windows (Legacy app), also no longer in development and is superseded by the new version 20 softphone, although this is still in the beta release stage.

In any case, to answer your question there are no pop-up capabilities in the Legacy App.

@TownTech You’d need to have the web client or mobile app open to chat, if using the new Store app.
