I want to give access to voicemail to any member of staff. We cannot have a separate inbound route for each person, is there a way to create an inbound route which asks for the extension number and PIN then gives access from outside the office?

Thanks
Millsey

This has come up a number of times, because (as of yet) there is not a way to "break through" the outgoing message to access the stored messages, as there is on most answering machines.

Here are a few discussions on the topic. You will probably have to make use of the automated attendant.

if you are talking about checking messages, simply use your digital receptionist and dial voicemail from it when it answers. when it asks for password press the # key and it will ask for extension and then password.

Here are a couple options:

1. Dial the voicemail extension at any digital receptionist menu
2. Create an digital receptionist option that dials an external number
3. Setup an unused DID number to dials an external number

For the external number, use your voicemail extension (i.e. 999)

Our company uses option 3. You simply call the specified DID number and it connects you directly to voicemail (asking for both the extension and password).
