Hi,
i econuntered a strange behaviour, i didn't now if is correct.

from Dashboard->Activity logs, if i try to filter datas from previous days i didn't see anything.
It seems like it keeps less than data from the last 24 hours.

Under settings i'v enabled the keep log files for 10 days, and, if i go in log folder i've backup log folder from the previous days.

Am i wrong expecting to see previous datas from activity logs?

There is a way to see the datas showed in activity logs page from log files?

Plus, i didn't know if is related, i've those message in event log (There are another place, moreover Activity logs->settings->keep backup file) where is possible to set to keep datas?

Not sure if this is required for # days but restart and find out.

Thanks Kieferschild, unfortunately, the setting was already done, and i'm quite sure that i've restart both services and entire machine several times).
I've just notice the behaviour regards the retention, because i just need to check the past :D

Hi @Irene,

If you go into your Activity Viewer, are you able to see logs back 10 days?

Do you mean Dashboard -> Activity log? in this case i see recent datas, but if i click Load more button in bottom of page, after lots of data (no more than last 24 hours) no more are shown.
Same, if i use filter option to check data from 2 or 3 days ago by looking for data-hour range.

else, under Dashboard -> Activity log->Logs->[Instance/Global]->Backups and there are folder for last 10 days (accordingly with settings in Dashboard -> Activity log->Settings->Keep backup files for 10 days)

Hi @Irene,

Yes, apologies for my typo. I typed Activity Viewer, when I meant Activity Log.

Yes, what you're seeing is correct. The Activity Viewer only shows 1 or 2 days worth (usually, dependant on size of the file) of the logs before it becomes the next backup file.

Also you'll constantly receive the warning that the logs are deleted because it's removing the 11th day, each day.

Ok, i'm reassured that no issue is going on :)

If i'd like to check contents of Activity log in backup files, which file i've to open? i've try to open log files, but data contained seems different from the ones that are showed in Activity log.

Hi @Irene,

You'll need to install the binlog viewer to open the .bldef files. We have a guide outlining the usage of the application here. Once installed you'll be able to open the files in those backup folders you've got.
