I know I'm going to kick myself but after years of using 3CX, I've hit something I can't seem to sort by myself.

The site has three Algo PAs which amongst other things are configured as external ringers across the site.

The site used to run an Asterisk server for queues that called a 3CX ringgroup. This was primarily done because (at the time) the client wanted to target calls at busy agents. Anyway, I digress.... The Asterisk box had the three PA ring-extensions as queue members and a DID to 3CX. This worked great. We are in the process of decommisioning the legacy Asterisk and using native 3CX queues.

I cannot work out a way to have the incoming call to the queue ring the Algos without them being considered as agents... but obviously they don't answer the call or deal with customer enquiries.

Am I missing something obvious? Thank!

As you discovered, any extension you add to a queue the queue is going to attempt to route callers to that extension.

If you are looking to use your paging system to notify staff when there are callers waiting in the queue, I encourage you to take a look at our 3CX Queue Notifier tool.

Our tool was designed specifically for notifying staff when there are callers waiting in a queue. It can play a series of chimes/beeps, or use text-to-speech to announce something like "The Sales Queue has 3 callers waiting in the queue. The longest hold time is 3 minutes and 45 seconds". We can also send notifications via email, text message, or desktop popup.

If you use the "ring all" strategy this should work. I cant imagine you would want them to ring on any other strategy anyway.
