We are using V20 Hosted at 3CX with Snom D785 phones.

Using the Admin Console --> Users --> IP Phone --> BLF page, I can customize function keys on each phone. The problem is that the function choices appear to be limited. The only choices I find are Blank, Line, BLF, Speed Dial, Custom Speed Dial, Shared Parking, Agent Login/Logout and Change Status. If I want to add Conference, Transfer, or Silence Ringer function keys - for example - how do I define those through the web interface? Do I use a Custom Speed Dial and define it to dial some feature code?

If these can't be defined through the web interface, do I have to create a custom XML configuration for each phone? If so, where do I upload and enable those custom XML configurations?

Thanks!

Hi, BLF options are the one that you have described, other blf settings are not included in the default template.

If you need extra settings beyond those in the default template you may do it with custom templates, but bear in mind that it is not supported and not allowed in Hosted by 3CX

Have a nice day!

Thanks for the reply!

To add other types of buttons, I would have to modify the template for the phone model - in this case Snom D785. I've been told that custom IP phone templates are supported in V20, but not in versions hosted by 3CX. Do I understand that correctly?

If that is the case, there is no way to add custom IP phone templates using 3CX Hosted V20.

No, custom templates have never been supported, you can check the support procedures here

With Hosted by 3CX, you can only use the default templates.

I fully understand that 3CX doesn't provide technical support for custom templates of any description. I meant to say that it's not even a possibility with V20 3CX hosted installations.

My statement should have been something more like "Custom IP phone templates are possible with V20 on-premise installations. Custom IP phone templates are not even possible with V20 hosted by 3CX installations."
