All,

I had a client purchase some new phones for their 3CX system. In an effort to get the phone templates to recognize the new phones several rounds of system updates and phone templates were applied. In doing so, we broke the Fax Server. When you dial the fax server DID, for a split second you hear the fax tone then it disconnects. The call logs show it was received by the Fax Server and Sent to 888 but as 'unanswered'. I've rebooted the server. Restarting the services. 888 shows registered under System Extensions. They're still only on release 16.0.4.504.

I can't find any errors in the logs that I've seen.

Any ideas?

Much appreciated!

HI Lance,

The first step is to upgrade the customer to the latest version. I would recommend upgrading them to V18 but you need to at least update them to the latest V16 version and test again.

Did you apply any custom templates that might cause issues with the PBX? If so then remove them and try again.
Since the 888 is registered this might also be a VoIP provider issue. You need to set the logging level in the Activity log and then make another call so you can troubleshoot. The Activity log should provide all the info you need to see what is wrong.

Updating to the latest V16 release resolved the issue. Thanks!
