Hello,

Our policy is for staff to phone our reception extension for when a first aider is needed. If a staff member tries to phone from a non-logged in handset they get a "call forbidden by administrator" audio message.

Is there a way of "white-listing" the reception extension or adding an internal extension to the Emergency Numbers under Settings->General Settings?

Many thanks

Have you stuck the EXT in that location and tested?

Thanks for the reply. When I try to add an extension to the Emergency Number list I get this13863

Hi,

Unfortunately this will not work because emergency calls are routed via a trunk.

HotDesking phones can reach those emergency destinations when logged out, but they cannot reach local extensions (including the operator).

If the operator has a direct line assigned, can you try adding that to the emergency numbers?

if it works it's not so nice to have to pay for a call to OP

Thanks for your replies. You can put a full number into the Emergency Number List and it does dial the number without the handset being logged in. However, this means staff have to remember a full telephone number rather than a 4 digit extension. It's a shame the Emergency Numbers go directly out to the trunks rather than via the Outbound rules so that you can do a few clever things!

Adding the full number is the only possibility.
