Using Hotfix for v16 Update 4 and Update 5 AlphaHotfix for v16 Update 4 and Update 5 Alpha as we need to run on new Edge.

In Browser, Settings, Personalize, Audio/Video just says:
Media settings are handled by Browser Extension.

For Windows: Works
Uninstall old "3CX chrome extension" and install this one: https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/detail/kcijpkomlnpfpjmkbghnnmflfebimpfg

For LINUX: Does not Work !
Clicking on "Settings" in the app still redirects to browser and MS-App cannot be installed.

Not Tested: Chrome or Chromium on Windows.

I found this thread, but it is already closed without solution:
https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/the-current-device-does-not-support-media-settings.69935/

With v16 Update 4 everything worked fine in the browser.
With v16 Update 5 ....beta for quite a while now: Impossible to set audio.

Tests with Chrome on Windows: Same problem as on Linux.

Seems like only new Edge-App is really compatible with v16 Alpha 5.
Edge-App cannot be installed on Chrome.

Hello @Ayia Napa George ,

At the moment, Microsoft Edge Extension has a newer version than Chrome on Web Store. This is the reason taht you get more functionality than Chrome Extenion.

Microsoft Edge (Chromium) is not available for Linux at the moment. So for me it is not clear the scenario that you tried on Linux.

Hello Constantinou,

thanks for the info. I tried Google Chrome and Chromium on Linux and on Windows.
Both use the "current / old" App version, so it is evident, that the "audio-settings-problem" occurs.

I would prefer to have a native Chrome-Version instead of waiting for Edge-Chrome to be released for Linux or mess up my Linux with Microsoft Stuff.

Please if possible:
The App should be universal for Chrome as it was before, not just for Edge-Chrome.

Do you plan to drop native Chrome App?
If not: Any Idea about release date for updated chrome app?
Right now at "Corona-Closure" I have to run a VM with Windows to be able to participate in Webmeetings.... Maybe I should relocate to Cyprus if it's better there :):)

Linux:
Shure, 95% of our desktops run on Windows, but 3CX would then be another problem when trying to switch from Windows to Linux.

Chrome/Edge Extension backend is more or less the same as they both utilize the Chromium engine.

The release of the Chrome version should be with Update 5 Beta or Update 5 Final. This is something that will be adjusted accordingly based on our internal tests.

Thank you.

That's good news !

Can you say anything about time schedule?
Not a date but some indication like "hopefully end of March, or April, May or so.

The ideal scenario will be beginning of April.

Great. Thanks!

So if you don't have Jabra, why does this concern you or why do you need to test? Or are you saying that you specifically don't have a Jabra headset but others in your company do?

Just tested. Works perfectly !!!

Info: Another thing I just found at Chrome Extensions:
Jabra Browser Integration: "No longer works with the new browser extension of 3CX 16.4"
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/jabra-browser-integration/okpeabepajdgiepelmhkfhkjlhhmofma
I cannot test, don't have a jabra currently....

Integration with Jabra Headset on Browser Extension is something that will be coming with Update 6. Browser Extension technology-wise is in a different context than WebClient, and that's why the integration at the moment is not possible.

Also give a shoot to our new features on Chrome Extension like:
  • Settings control from extension
  • White Theme
  • Hotkeys
  • Chat notifications
Let us know your feedback.

New Chrome extension looks quite good.
White Theme: I like the dark one more at the moment.
Hotkeys: No reaction when I click on the symbol under settings.
Chat Notifications: They arrive in Browser as before.... What changed?

Regarding headset integration:
Would be nice to have the same comfort with bluetooth headsets as on mobile phones.
I know, that it's not so easy, but I like the idea.

Hello @Ayia Napa George ,

Hotkeys: You are not redirected to chrome://extensions/shortcuts?
Chat notifications: You should get these 3 types of notifications.

Can you please verify that you are on Chrome Extension Version : 3.0.1.70?
