Alphanumeric sender ID

Hello,

I will need to have an alphanumeric sms sender id instead number.

I have Twilio which is configured on 3CX and I'm in a country that allows alphanumeric ID (Switzerland).

Twilio told me that 3CX needed to add the "from" field in the API.

s it possible to do it? Or can I modify this API myself?

Hi!

The 3CX software currently is limited only to numerical numbers that need to be formatted in an e164 format.

This is an oversight, right now only Numerical number in e164 are supported.

If you need to be able to send Messages with Alphanumerical, I would suggest you try to interact directly with Twilio using their APIs and circumvent 3CX for this as it's not currently possible.

Does anyone from 3CX know if this is still the case that we are unable to use an alphanumeric sender ID with Twilio? If it is still the case, is this a function that will be coming in an upcoming release of 3CX?

I don't know where you are located, but, Alphanumeric Sender ID is not available in the US or Canada¹ by Twilio.

So beyond your question, if 3CX intends to implement it, there is a question of availability in Canada & US.
