Hello,

Our company aims to replace the entire telephony system for our clients currently using a competitor of 3CX, with 3CX itself.

However, this competitor has a functionality that was highly appreciated—switches. These are shortcuts activated on the BLF keys, and in the dial plan, these keys are checked. If they are active, the dial plan is different. This feature is very useful for handling exceptional closures, for instance, and for managing exceptional voicemail scenarios.

Is it possible to find an equivalent to this feature with the help of the wonderful community on this forum?

Thanks in advance.

We wrote a call flow that checks the status of one extension and pushes the call to the relevant flow. If they are in a meeting there's a dial code (*34) that put the phone unavailable and another (*30) that puts it back to normal.

Yeah I did that for another client, but the problem is the one we're preparing rn have like 11 switch and 5 differents site, 2 switches per site +1 on the main site for a general exceptionnal closing. and the SDAs concerned by these switches all redirects to a queue.

On our other client i directed the call to an extension and based on the status it redirected either to a queue or played a sound and terminated the call.

For this client this is impossible cause it will be too complicated for the user to connect to each extension to change status etc.

Groups/Departments can have their own hours now, with the ability to override the hours and set any custom route at any moment.

Otherwise, CFDs could help for this. Those can be dialed from deskphones.

I'm on a hosted so CFDs aren't an option, and going for V20 isn't an option neither cause we haven't tested it yet in my company. We would like to be on point with V20 before deploying it.

Sorry if i'm looking like i don't want to work, that's really not the case, I just want to avoid future problems, any other option ?

There's no other way.

I should also point out that V20 is in BETA right now, so moving to V20 for production is not an option yet.
