Hi, we are just about to move to 3CX hosted on prem. hopefully an easy one to answer.

We have 2 doors on a separate floor to reception that have a button on them, these buttons are connected to an analogue phone system port that automatically rings an extension on the level to notify someone is waiting.

To get this working on 3CX i'm assuming these would need to plug into an ATA?

Hi!

From the sounds of it, yes, that is exactly what you would need, an FXS/ATA device to connect the analog buttons to, then that in turn would 'convert' the analog to VoIP and register with 3CX.

You can see a list of supported FXS devices here: https://www.3cx.com/voip-gateways/

Just on very important thing to clarify first, when you say "we are just about to move to 3CX hosted on prem", could please explain what you mean? Where will 3CX be located, on-prem, or in the cloud (hosted)?

Thanks for the quick response. it will be on-prem, not cloud hosted

Ok, then assuming your "buttons" don't have any unique requirements, I think what what said above should cover you.

While most ATA's do have the ability to autodial a pre-detirmined number, on off-hook, you might want to check that your choice of ATA, does, as that is what you will require, from the sounds of it.
