The 3CX app installed on our test mobile phone (Android version 7) stopped connecting to our demonstration 3CX system last week at around the same time as the latest round of releases (circa 25 June 2025).
According to the 3CX release notes this should not be the case because Android version 7 is supported.
To confirm the incompatibility when attempting to reload the app from the Google Play Store the message "This app won't work for your device" appears.
Is this a permanent situation regarding Android version 7 or can we reload a previous version of the app from a source other than Google Play Store?
Alternatively what is the minimum / oldest version of the Android system that is required for the app to work in case we need to change our test mobile phone?

Any help would be most appreciated.

Hello,

As you should be able to see on Google Play and on our docs https://www.3cx.com/docs/android-push-troubleshooting/ the current absolute minimum is Android 8.

For full functionality we recommend Android 11 and higher. To ensure continued operation you should get a phone with as close to the latest Android version as possible.

Best,
KS.

@phoenixcomms we had raised the minimum android version back in 2021.
So assuming here that you did update since before 2021.

If you attempted to update to latest OR uninstalled and re-installed the app, this minimum version check came into play.

As stated from my colleague above, absolute minimum is Android 8, but recommended to use Android 11 or higher devices.

Android 7 was released 9 years ago... maybe its time to upgrade your phone.. :)
