I'm presenting to my boss why we should use 3CX this week.

We are potentially 80 users, and I've tested a few different companies, and all are very expensive (per user licence) for 80 users.
Except Grasshopper, but then I came accross 3CX and I fell in love with it.

I tried Grasshopper, and their price is staggering, it's a fixed price every month for unlimited extensions and unlimited minutes (how is that even possible?).
Their testing demo is only for one phone number. Additonnal phone numbers are $10/mo extra.

They look very user friendly, but for some reason I feel this wouldn't fit our more complex use cases, and 3CX is offering more freedom. Good think I'm more tech savvy as 3CX needs more setup (SIP trunk etc..) while Grasshopper is an out of the box solution for small teams with straightforward needs.

I just would like to know about people's experience with Grasshopper and why they switched to 3CX, and are you guys happy you made the switch?

Tomorrow is my presentation, and I'm going to push hard for us to adopt 3CX. I'm thinking we can always try the STANDARD version at first, since it's free and beats Grasshopper.

Note: I don't mean to bash Grasshopper at all, I'm genuinely interested in people's experience with both systems

I tried it and it is definetely interesting for a basic setup and non tech savvy people or who don't want to bother with setting up much.

My organization needs 3CX badly. And I can't wait to present a demo and hopefully it gets approved! It's such a wonderful system. If we go forward, we'll use the first free year 3CX hosted and I'm hoping we'll be so used to it that we won't be able to live without it :) and eventuallypurchase the business licence

My presentation went well, and I have my prject manager on board yoohoo, but then we need budget to be approved, which seriously shouldn't be a problem since the cost, for the Business edition, per user is way below other competitors.

We can even integrate with our Church CRM which is double win.

Factory in a couple of SBC servers, if you are having physical handsets and 3CX is cloud hosted

https://www.3cx.com/docs/3cx-tunnel-session-border-controller/

Specs for SBC servers - all depends on number of handsets and blf keys - https://www.3cx.com/docs/recommended-hardware-specifications-for-3cx/

Having two, allows you to spilt the handsets across the sbc servers, in case one goes offline you still will be able to take calls.

Note : 3CX applications (desktop, mobile) do not use the SBC server, they talk directly to the 3CX server using the 3CX tunnel port.
