I'm on the phone with siptrunk.com and trying to figure out why my siptrunk is connecting to gw2.siptrunk.com and not gw1.siptrunk.com. Attached are my settings for the siptrunk. The guy at siptrunk says the 3cx isn't even trying to communicate with gw1.siptrunk.com at all via packet trace.

The result my users are seeing is that incoming calls are falling over to the PTSN backup option siptrunk has at their level, so they aren't even coming to the PBX. The PBX shows green on the siptrunk, although it's using gw2.siptrunk.com according to siptrunk.

Any ideas? This system has been working on v18 for over a week now. It just randomly started in the middle of the day today.

Hi @ElementalWindX

Your trunk should work even though it is connected to gw2.siptrunk.com as it is an alternative proxy for SIPtrunk.com. The PBX probably switched to gw2.siptrunk.com at some point when gw1.siptrunk.com was not responding or you got an error message that triggered the switch.

You can restart the SIP Server service and the PBX should go back to gw1.siptrunk.com.

I tried restarting the pbx. Doesn't change anything. According to the siptrunk rep, the pbx wasn't even trying to communicate with gw1. Sounds like a possible bug in this new alpha version?

Normally I would think this might a bug but I am also running the V18 alpha and I have a SIPtrunk.com trunk and its registered on gw1 normally. Check if the gw1 address is blacklisted somewhere as it may be the cause of your issue. Also check the activity log after restarting the services and see if you get an error. Enabling verbose logging will give you more details.

He said I wasn't blacklisted. Odd :/

Try to remove the gw2 alternative proxy completely and let me know what happens. Does the PBX try to register? You can run a capture as well and check if the PBX is sending registration messages to gw1 or not
