AT&T trunk configuration

Hi Team,

Appreciate your help we are using AT&T trunk which sends the caller name and this working fine,
but for some numbers there are no names is there any way to show City/State of this number in case the name not found.

3CX can attach a name, if a match is found in the company directory, but for what you are looking for you would require an add-on, (lookup) database, that has all current areacode/ prefix combinations.
I'm a bit surprised that they don't offer that service, when a name is not already attached to a number.

Thanks for your reply but I'm searching for an easy workaround, I think about make match expression for each code in the trunk and change it with the city name, i don't know if this can work or not.

The 3CX phonebook matches from the end of the number. You want something that matches the first 3 or 6 digits and ignores the rest, if a name is not sent. The database would not be too large (less than 1000) if you did only the State/Province based on the areacode alone. once you start adding the prefix, it will be getting up towards 1,000,000, minus numbers that have yet to be assigned, or will never be assigned.

If I use a database it will lookup but these are new numbers,
I'm thinking about for example if the number with no name will reach trunk in the format: Null:+124xxxxxxx
use match expression (attached) to catch the "Null:+124" then replace "Null" with the city "New York" I don't know if this doable or not will try to test it.

It is not simply a matter of changing the caller ID in that method. In most cases, if there is a name sent, you'll not want to modify that. What you want won't be a simple implementation.

I think the best way is to request this from the Trunk vendor to send the city name if caller name not found.

It certainly doesn't hurt to ask, however, since they are sending some names, I suspect that they do not do any look-ups of their own, as that would involve an additional charge. They simply pass along any name that is already attached to a number. Subscriber number databases (CNAM) are not an inexpensive operation to maintain, so many non-PSTN companies will contract this to someone else, paying a small fee for each look-up. This is then passed on to the subscriber.
