Attended Transfer is too smooth

When somebody performs an attended transfer to you phone, you must wait until the person that is performing the transfer finishes the transfer to talk with the third person.

In a conventional PBX, you can hear some kind of noise, that tells you that you are connected to the third person.

In 3CX the process is so smooth, you are not aware that the transfer has been finished and you can start talking.

Has anybody found a solution for this?

It could work, but remember its the third person that must do it...

On V5 i dont know how this is working, on V3 i know that when you make a Attended transfer you here a beep when the call is connected...

I think he have the problem that there is no music on hold or transfer.

The person that is being transfered can hear the music, when the music stops he knows that has been transfered.

The problem is for the person receiving the call transfer:

>Operator:"Mr.Smith is calling you..."
>Receiver of the transfer:"Ok"

Then it is total silence, as the operator finishes the transfer and connects you to the caller. You don't know wether you are still conected to the Operator or you have been already connected to the Caller.

In a conventional PBX there are noises everywhere so you feel the difference.

It is not a problem of "attendant transfer" itself. Correct implementation is when both calls are placed on hold until the transfer finished. If you provide at least few pieces of information, we will be able to help you.

1.- Call Scenario

1.0.-The "Caller" dials the PSTN number of the company.

1.2.-The "Operator" answers the call. He is asked by the "Caller" to connect him with somebody inside the company: the "Receiver".

1.3.-The "Operator" selects a second line and calls the "Receiver". He tells the "Receiver" about the call. At this time the "Caller" is hearing music.

1.4.-The "Operator" presses the "Transfer" and "Ok" button on his desk phone and connects the "Caller" to the "Receiver".

The problem happens in the transition from step 1.3 to step 1.4. The "Receiver" does not hear any sound that informs him that he is already connected to the "Caller" and can start talking.

Caller: Unknown device in the PSTN connected to 3CX by a ISDN BRI interface and a Patton ISDN-SIP gateway.

Operator: Snom 320
