Is anyone using auto-provisioning on the Free 3CX version ?

I can't seem to get the xml generation working ?

From the 3CX wiki http://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/DHCP-option-66.html, I was expecting auto-provisioning to "post" an xml file via http from where the voip handset can access it at boot time.

However I see no xml posting (and the handset says "missing file").

I am using 3CX Build 7139 with Cassini on an XP-Pro machine. (The handset is a Linksys SPA942.)

I was expecting to see cfg001234567890.xml (where the actuals digits are the specified mac address) :
  • posted to http://192.168.1.90:5481/provisioning/cfg001234567890.xml; and
  • stored in directory C:\Program Files\3CX PhoneSystem\data\http\interface\provisioning

Nothing appears posted and the directory structure (above) from http onwards doesn't exist either.

Does anyone else have this working ?

Do I first have to "turn on" provisioning from an option somewhere within 3CX ?

Not entirely sure that the free version supports Auto-Provisioning, but apart from that, you need to set it up in the extension. There you have to specify the MAC address of the phone attached and the model of the phone.

Hi,

My understanding is the free version does NOT have auto provisioning. Check the version comparison for confirmation.

I found the folder here:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\3CX\Data\Http\Interface\provisioning

I'm using the Cassini Web Server with the free version v7.1 in Demo mode.
I'm going to point my TFTP there.

Thanks,

Hi Jonathan, Hi Ed,

Just closing off this thread in case of future reference.

You are indeed both right !

AutoProvisioning should be included in Version 7 free version. However I suspect it only works on Cassini in free version.

I did purchase a licence and after licence activation, AutoProvisioning started working in ISS. So I think that has solved the problem.

And finally, the autoprovisioning file appears in the directory as specified by Ed.

Thanks & Cheers
