Hi,

I work for a company that provides automatic speech-to-text services, and we would like to use our own product to transcribe calls that we record on our cloud-hosted 3CX platform. Manually downloading (and then deleting) them via the admin portal isn't a viable option, and as it's cloud-hosted, we don't have access to the file system to simply copy them.

Any suggestions?

Spending a few minutes with Chrome's "Developer tools" open whilst navigating the admin portal shows a very simple API (which appears to be undocumented, alas!), and I've had some success with emulating this; login, list, and download work, but delete doesn't (401 response), so whilst I can fetch the recordings, I can't clean up, so manual intervention will still be required. It would be great if this API was public/documented, but I'll assume that's not going to happen any time soon. Ultimately, I'm just trying to automate/emulate the web client, not do anything sneaky, and it's frustrating to be so close but not quite there...

I'd also be happy to share code (it's 11 lines of Python at the moment), if that's permitted? If there's sufficient interest, I could even add support for our transcription service in that script, but I'm wary of breaching any "no advertising" rules... but a pretty nice feature for other people to use?

Thanks!

If the API truly isn't documented then I wouldn't hold your breath. Reaching out to Matthew @ VoipTools might shed some light as far as how to use the API to do what you are trying to do. The other option is to move the hosted instance to another provider so you do have filesystem level access.

We can help, and we are always interested in looking at another speech engine. Take a look at our 3CX Voicemail Manager.

If you're comfortable with FTP you could always set a job to FTP the files from the directories and then your tools could do their job. You could even use the backup utility to push that job at regular intervals and just have to deal with the ZIP file.
