Hi!

Due to a hardware defect, I have restored a backup on a second hardware. That works fine!

Now the former hardware is fixed and ready to go "live" again.

Can I just shut down the backup hardware and power on the fixed hardware?
- will there be problems with the license or the auto configured certificates?
- or do I have do restore the backup on the original hardware?

I have a standard license and no failover configuration.

Best
Tim

Hello @Tim Meier

If the local IP is the same then just power the original server back up and you should be fine. You must never have 2 servers with the same licence and FQDN active as this will cause issues with licencing and DNS.
Since the secondary server will be powered down then you should be ok. The only real issue you might face is hitting the MAC activation limit since the MAC address of the secondary server is different than the originals. If that happens you will need to contact our costumer support so they can help you.

Thank you! It worked without any problems!

No problems with the MAC activation limit.

Glad to see that it worked and thank for the update.
