We have noticed that our backup for V20 is much larger than our previous bv28 backups.

When doing some testing it appears that the setting for Include local/temporary recordings is being set to yes even if unchecked.
V18 backup - 16 MB
V20 backup - 525 MB

We are backing up via FTP.

I have tested both scheduled and Backup Now.

Is this a known bug?

I have also had another look, and V20 is now backing up phone provisioning, which is a large folder.

Is this by design?

Whoops - obviously I meant V20 vs V18

Haven’t noticed those specifically, but v20 downloads and backs up all prompt/language sets too.

I was quite surprised that the V20 backups are more than 30 times the size of the V18 backups

There might be a reason - hopefully we find out soon enough

I haven't seen 30x but the ones I've seen add 80 MB or so for the prompts, as I recall, so about double. In previous versions the prompt sets are optional. For v20 they show as not installed after upgrade but then they automatically install even if automatic updates are disabled, and reinstall if deleted.

I've just checked the backup contents again - the provisioning folder is 371 MB.

That directory was not in the V18 backup. I'm not sure if/why it needs to be backed up.

Probably firmwares. Run a cleanup from the dashboard.
