Beeping from Unknown Incoming Call

Hello,

We are experiencing calls showing up as unknown that when answered you can only hear a periodic beep every 3 seconds. Otherwise there is no voice or any other sounds. This doesn't sound like DTMF tones or a fax machine trying to connect, just a simple beep. Has anyone had any experience with this or have any suggestions? I appreciate any ideas.

I would say that "something" has your number, and is calling repeatedly, in which case your provider would have to help trace, especially if it has gone beyond "annoying". I assume that you normally have Caller ID , but that their number is being blocked.

Is it only happening on one of your phone numbers?
