Beeping on Conference Calls on an Android Phone

Hi All,

We have one user who has a Samsung S22 Ultra android smartphone. When on a conference call using the 3CX app on his phone, he hears 2 beeps every 10 seconds. The other people on the conference call do not hear the beeps. He set up the 3CX app on his old smartphone (also a Samsung) and tried it there--no beeps on a conference call. He then uninstalled the app on the new phone, reinstalled and tested--again, 2 beeps every 10 seconds, only on conference calls.

Any idea as to what could be causing this behavior, or better yet, how to stop it?

My first thought was someone is recording the call. But I think that's usually a single beep every 15 seconds.

Is this a conference all set up by 3CX? Or by some conferencing service? Does it happen with other conferencing services?

If you Google "android 2 beeps every 10 seconds" there are multiple reports going back to 2010. Here's one where the person says it was a "Showcaller" app:
