Hello,

We have all of our 3CX systems hosted on OVH. We have been very happy with the quality of the systems and would happily recommend the cloud set up. We only have one real issue with the hosted systems and that is 3CX’s minimum requirements https://www.3cx.com/docs/recommended-hardware-specifications-for-3cx/, as I don’t believe that they cover the cloud systems. The original guides for the cloud systems had some hints as to what an S-1-2 system on OVH would be able to handle. The S-1-2 does not have an i3 processor running at 3.2GHz, the processors are 2.4GHz. All of our systems are quite small, so all of them run on an S-1-2 flavour system. I am confident that the S-1-2 can handle quite a bit and we have never had a performance hit. However we have recently had an issue with one of our larger systems and every email correspondence with 3CX support states that the system needs to meet the minimum requirements.

3CX have pushed cloud systems and I feel that they should have a revised recommended hardware list for cloud flavours. Even if they were quite reserved about the limits I would be happy, but please GIVE US SOMETHING!

e.g. (Not real or tested in any way, just an example of the format)
S-1-2: Can handle to 2 SBC’s, 20 handsets with 5BLF’s and 8 concurrent calls.
S-1-8: Can handle….. etc.

I can understand why they don’t want to, as the performance depends on your configuration, and once it is writing customers may try and hold them to their limits, but we need something. If you would also like some benchmarks for cloud systems from 3CX please leave a comment.

Cheers,
Tony

Just base your requirements on the hardware requirements for 3CX.

Up to 64SC, you don't need a warmachine. Just a good PC with 4-8 cores and 8-16GB of RAM.

I"m confused about what you need the benchmarks updated for. You state you have all of your systems on OVH and you are happy with it, so you have your YOUR benchmark. Every configuration is different. 3CX provides a baseline recommendation that you are free to go under or over. If you don't want to think for yourself, you follow their recommendation. If you do (and it appears you at least understand processor specs) then you don't need 3CX to tell you what you already know.
