We have a number of different groups that all close at different times. Right now in our main IVR we have a CFD package set to a group extension and I have date / time conditions set in each of the options.

The question I have is we have numbers that come directly into the queues. We need those to be caught with an hour check and play specific messages for each of them. What is the best way to do this?

The only way I can think of is to create a new call group with a CFD package, then transfer to the group we intended to reach. Seems a little redundant to setup a whole different group to transfer to an existing gruop. Would a CFD package work if its on the actual active group or will CFD only function as a standalone?

If you have unique DIDs for each group, then you can apply office hours by editing the inbound rule and checking the checkbox "Set up Specific Office Hours for this trunk". Otherwise the only option I can see is a CFD application for each group. I typically create a CFD extension that then forwards to a separate ring group / queue. No getting around it.
