Hi, has anyone come up with a quick way to upgrade Fanvil X3U Pro firmware from 2.4.7.4 to 2.4.7.5?

By the time I knew that there was an issue with the firmware, I had already done two installations (one with 50 and the other with 100 phones).

This means that I would have to login to 150 phones webpage with different passwords to then manually upgrade the firmware to 2.4.7.5.

It would have been a lot better had I known that I would not be able to upgrade it via 3CX. This way I could have used the defaul password on all of the phones.

At this rate, I am thinking to set all phones via 3CX to the same simple password, then login to the webpage to upgrade. Then I will have to send out new welcome emails to all users for their mobile devices. This would be after resetting the password.

Thanks,
Alexander

Hi Alexander,

Usually phone manufacturers provide the ability to provision the phones via DHCP Options, including the ability to define a tftp server which provides firmware. Upon startup the phone receives this information from the DHCP server and automatically installs it.

This could be one possible solution, so contact the manufacturer and see if they can help you with this, and you should be able to mass-upgrade your phones using this method. Remember to disable the the DHCP Option when you are done, otherwise it may interfere with normal provisioning.

Thank you for this!
