Blacklisted numbers can still send SMS

Just curious if this is intentional or if this instance is acting up? I get a bunch of spam texts on one of our numbers. I blacklist the number but they're still able to send us texts. Seems like that shouldn't happen.

The number blacklist will affect inbound calls to the numbers that are blacklisted but will not have any effect on SMS.

you might have to block the numer at the sip trunk/provider level

We are experiencing the same issue with a harassing caller. We blacklisted the number which stopped the calls, but SMS messages are still coming through, including one with a file attached. I've reached out to our SIP provider, Flowroute, to inquire as to how to stop it at the SIP level and am waiting to hear back.

Just an update for our situation, Flowroute was able to get their messaging partners to block sms/mms messages from the offending number. They were also going to touch base with their voice partners to block it at that level too, although the 3CX block did work for voice, just not SMS as indicated in this thread. But for us, Flowroute took care of it for us.
