Hello,

To preempt all probable “just switch to version 20” suggestions — here’s the situation: we need to add a Fanvil router phone before migrating to v20. The problem is, the user supposed to received a router phone already has a Yealink phone assigned. So when I try to add an another device via the web client (the only way v18 allows to add a router phone), I simply don’t see any way to do it without deleting the existing phone. And for a number of reasons, that's completely unacceptable.

Is there any way to solve this puzzle?

Thank you.

As far as I am aware the only way to add a secondary/replacement router phone in v18 is to delete the existing one.
One option is to create an extra extension, move the existing Yealink router phone to it, and then add the new fanvil one to the original extension.

No, on v18 you can only assign one routerphone to an extension. Why you need to do this before v20?

Oh. It’s both complicated and simple at the same time. The client insists on minimal investment in telephony, so they don’t even accept an SBC — supposedly too expensive — and rely on STUN connections instead. The whole idea is to introduce an SBC into the network disguised as a Fanvil X7A, put the other devices behind it, and then proceed with the upgrade to v20.

The phone currently assigned to ext.202 is in fact not a router phone. We're just trying to replace the "plain" Yealink T58A with SBC-capable Fanvil device.

Ah I misread, unfortunately you would still have to delete the original phone (regardless of router status or not) to add a router phone. In v18 the phone type option only shows for the first phone added to the extension.
