Dear 3CX Support,

My client works with SNOM710 phone and 3CX server (version 15.5.13103.5).
Normally, with the template configured for all Snom710 phones, BLF 1 and 2 are activated and for line configuration (fkey=line).
But, on the WebUI of the phone and the settings of extensions, all BLF are blank.
After a research here, we have found that :
"Yes. Upon request, if the the filename is known to 3CX, an "on-the-fly" will first try to be generated. If not found, then it will check for a physical file in the folder. To be sure though, you could delete (or move first to be safe), all MAC address files out of the folder..."

But that doesn't work too.
We have test to configure, directly on 3CX server, line configuration for BLF 1 and 2 but that doesn't work.

Can you confirm us BLF line is working with SNOM710 phone and 3CX server version 15.5.13103.5? And if yes, how can I fix my issue with BLF buttons?

Thanks in advance, best regards,

Hi AlieChris
I'm not from 3cx support, but I can answer to your question - Of course it works!:)
All our Snom phones (including 710) are provisioned with 2 first buttons set to Line Key. This was done to provide our customers possibility to use the CTI dialing. A lot of customers did the same and it was always working.

Other think.
You are always mentioning the "fkey=line", but this is not the Snom supported format.
It must be, at least, <fkey>line</fkey>.

Are you sure that you are using the right template?

To solve your issue:
1. Check the Snom firmware version. In should be 3cx supported version that you can find here:
https://www.3cx.com/support/phone-firmwares/
2. Check the template. If it's a custom template, change it to default one and try again.
3. If it's remote provisioning type (STUN or SBC) check your certificate (HTTPS). It must be a certificate trusted by the Snom. We are using the 3cx supported/generated Let's Encrypt certificates which are also supported by the Snom.

Dear Phonemaster,

I tested this configuration and that doesn't work .
Before this test, on 2 extensions, BLF buttons worked with a test template.
I copied /pasted this template on the production template for all extensions and BLF buttons don't work.
So, I have the good supported format.
I have an issue with the provisioning of all extensions.
If you have another solution to fix that.

Thanks in advance, best regards,

Aliechris

Dear all,

Sorry to reply to my thread but someone can help me?

Thanks in advance, best regards,

Hello @AlieChris

So your issue is that the phones do not re-provision with the new settings? How are the phones provisioned to the server? Are the phones local or remote? Did you use a supported provisioning method or did you manually register the phones to the PBX?

Dear Yiannish,

yes, my issue is that the phones do not re-provision with the new settings.
All local phones are auto-reprovisioned each days.
We use a supported provisioning method, that is the provisioning link is provided to the Snom phones through the DHCP option 66 at startup. This has been working for years now.

To get into specifics, what we have detected is that when we change a setting in a provisioning file, the setting is not updated in the deskphone if the configuration template file name is not changed. On the other hand, if we change the template file name, then it is reprovisionned correctly.

It looks like the IPBX doesn't detect the settings changes if the template file name doesn't change, which is obviously a bug or an unwanted behavior.

Of course, we have tried to restart the 3CX services and even the whole server to force the IPBX to refresh / reload the configuration template file content into its memory for it to respond to the provisioning URL requests made by the Snom phones at startup. This didn't solve the problem.

How can we force the IPBX to take into account changes made to a configuration file without changing the name of the file ?

Many thanks in advance,

Trust me if re-provisioning did not work there would be a lot of people complaining in the forums about this and you should not change anything to get the PBX to push out the config file with the changes.
First step is to upgrade your PBX to the latest version. Then make sure that the phones are provisioned using the default template without any changes done to it. Also make sure that you are running the latest supported firmware and try again.
